Bringing October Back

Some people want to bring Sexy Back...I just want October back. Well except for that first week or so that was cold, dreary and rainy. Wait. That sounds a lot like the day we had today. November. Ugh. We had a fanTAStic October. Really. October here is almost magical. Warm days, cool nights. Beautiful leaves. Busy weeks. Busier weekends.

The kids had a blast visiting a Fire Station. We've had fire drills here at home. If you're at our house during a fire we're meeting at the mailbox. Be sure to join us.
We harvested our garden. We enjoyed so many things from our garden. Tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, green beans and these yummy little carrots.
We've done some sword fighting...which is better than REAL fighting. Barely. Because we bought those swords from the dollar store and they were all taped up by the second day. We should be a toy testing ground. If things can make it a day in our house they are decent quality. If they make it a week they are really GOOD quality. If they make it a month it should be a consumer's digest best buy. If we pass it on to another friend it's a miracle.
Fortunately there are many leaves to play with this time of year. They make the best toys anyway. Well...except for that adorable gaggle of neighbor girls. They are SO much more fun than ANY other toy we've ever had!
In October we had a few fantastic visitors. My very dear friend Mara courageously took her sweet little girl, Ellie on her first airplane ride. We hope it won't be their last. We had a fantastic weekend together. The kiddos ADORED Ellie.
Awwww...Don't we look so cute here?!?!
We spent a very cold, but fun, morning at the pumpkin patch. Another cute group picture of everyone.
We ventured up to Robie Creek and had a fun time playing at the park. It's so fun to watch our kids together. Makes my heart go all mushy.
I ran a 10K on beautiful Saturday in October. The race started at Barber Park which is just a stone's throw from our front door. The highlight of the race? It ended IN Bronco Stadium. The kids were THRILLED to actually be on the blue turf.
They are great helpers when it comes time to stretch too!
We also had a great time seeing Auntie Erica in October. The kids love all their Auntie's and they were SO excited she came to see us. They are already talking about her visit at Christmas.
Exploring in a park. During Erica's visit she graciously watched the kiddos while Douglas and I escaped to McCall. We had a wonderful time relaxing, exploring and enjoying the silence of the spectacular scenery.
And my soul was filled and restored. Wouldn't yours be?
