What's Inside?

Lately the kids have been fascinated with knowing "What's Inside?" everything. I think they came about this from Zoo class. In Zoo class we've talked about our bones and how they are inside their skin. They know the bones are the hard things in their body. They are like sponges right now. They soak up everything...just not the cups of milk that get frequently spilled at the table during meal times.

So now they want to know what is in EVERYTHING. But most often the things we are eating. We have great conversations like this...

Gabe: What's in da ketchup?
Me: They use tomatoes to make ketchup.

Leona: What's in da grapes?
Me: Grapes. Although sometimes they have seeds inside them.

Sam: What's in da samwhiches?
Me: Well today we have ham, cheese and some mayonnaise.

Usually they are fine with this explanations. Yesterday at lunch we had THIS conversation:

Sam: What's in my hot dog???
Me: You don't wanna know, buddy.
Daddy: We'll just call it meat.

Admit it. You've always wanted to know what's actually IN that hot dog. Aren't you glad you know now?!?!
