Doesn't she look so happy in her tent?!?? She actually just loves her tent and was thrilled to get one. When Douglas came home that evening she immediately took his hand, walked him upstairs and showed him "Sissy's tent". She was very proud to have her own tent.Over the weekend Douglas gave it a shot at keeping her contained. It didn't work any better for him then it did for me. On Saturday morning he cleaned up a giant mess. That afternoon we tried putting her in the Pack N Play (portable crib) in our room for her nap. This worked okay because he laid down on the bed and they both took naps in there together.
On Sunday he put her in our room again. After a while he thought he heard some noise upstairs so he went up to investigate. Leona wasn't in her bed and he couldn't find her in our room anywhere. Then he found her...OUT ON OUR DECK!!! The deck is off our bedroom. ON THE SECOND FLOOR!!! Of course there is a railing but that is still plenty to make a momma nervous!!! It was a beautiful day and she was happily sitting out there reading a book. Crazy girl.
After that Douglas decided that maybe a crib tent wasn't such a bad idea after all. In his defense he didn't realize that we still had Gabe's original one (this one doesn't have mesh all the way down the side) but I think it will work great to keep Sis contained for a while longer.
If you think the smile is big on Leona's face you should see mine. I'm so thrilled not to have to go through that frustration yet. Naptime was pretty much like a 7th grade girls Friday night slumber party. EVERY DAY! I know that eventually they will have to move to big kid beds but not until they are a little older yet! Maybe by 6th Grade!!!
