Froggy & Doggy

The kids have developed quite an attachment to all of their sleep buddies. They each have a BIG stuffed animal, a pillow, a blanket and several small stuffed animals in their cribs. All of these animals are required to STAY in the cribs and we say "bye-bye" to them each morning. Sometimes they even get covered up and "Go sleepy" for the day.

The other day Gabe and Leona were down for their nap...but they weren't exactly sleeping. Sam naps in the guest room otherwise he and Gabe don't nap at all! They have way to much fun playing together. Well Leona and Gabe decided they should play too...without their clothes on.

It's been a while since we've had a nasty poop incident but this one wasn't pretty. Both kids had pooped. It was everywhere. It was gross. Most of their precious buddies had to take a bath in the washer. Well I got busy that night and I forgot to move them from the washer to the dryer. Leona and Gabe were both great about it and helped me put their buddies into the dryer and said goodnight to them. No problems going to sleep at all without all their animals.

Douglas and I went to bed around midnight. We carried up most of the animals and stuck them into their cribs while they were asleep. They didn't wake up at all and we smiled at each other thinking how happy they would be to see their buddies in the morning.

We went into our room to get ready for bed. As we were brushing our teeth Gabe started crying. He rarely wakes up at night. Sam and Leona are usually the ones who wake up at night. Gabe started yelling for "Daddy!!! Daddy!!!" So Douglas went in to check out what was going on.

"DOGGY!!! DOGGY!!! DOGGY!!!!!!!!" screamed Gabe.

We had given Gabe all of his animals back except a small black doggy that got left in the dryer. Somehow in the darkness of the black night, from a dead sleep, Gabe was able to realize that all of his animals were there EXCEPT his doggy. Amazing.

Doggy has a buddy named Froggy cause...well he's a frog. Gabe is really original with his animal names. He also has a Bear named Bear and a Pooh named...well you get the idea. Anyway Doggy and Froggy hang out together. They weren't together. They needed to be together with Gabe.

So Douglas headed back downstairs to the dryer, retrieved Doggy and gave him to Gabe. Gabe immediately laid down on his big Pooh pillow, clutching Froggy and Doggy and went right back to sleep. All was right with the world again.

Sam with his "B". We found it, Grandma! Somehow it made it under Gabe's mattress. I don't even want to speculate how. But he sure is glad to have him back!
Sissy has a big Tigger and a little Tigger that she sleeps with along with Snoopy, Bunny, Bear and a Minnie Mouse.
